Pessac-Léognan is a red wine "Grand Cru Classé" opening with a fruit driven nose (blackberry, blackcurrant, blueberry). Elegant, velvety and balanced attack where multilayers of fruits notes and tanins give this wine a wonderful complexity. Vanilla and hazelnut in the long and fresh finish.
Bordeaux wine region in the southwest of France is home to more than 10000 producers giving a vast quantity of wine. The region is also known for its wide range of quality and diversity. Merlot thrives in more than 60% of the total vineyard in the area and gives some of the finest and most expensive wine in the world.
Moderate maritime climate
The soils on the Left Bank of Bordeaux are predominantly gravel based in the best terroirs, which include Médoc, Margaux, Pessac-Léognan, and Pauillac. Of course the soils are not only created from gravel, the various types and sizes of stones resting on beds ranging from limestone, to clay, to sandstone, and other mineral and organic materials play an important role. The gravel soils allow excellent drainage, encourage the roots to burrow deep, help by reflecting sunshine, and radiate heat (which helps the grapes to fully ripen).
