Tasting Notes
Côtes du Rhône Villages Red "La Petite Ourse" shows some aromatic expression of cherry, plum and fig, with spices in the background. Balanced and refined attack, with black fruits, black berries and notes of spices, mellow tannins in the finish.
France
Rhône Valley
Rhone Valley is a key wine region in the south-east of France, following the Rhone river from Lyon to the Mediterranean coast. This region is divided in two parts - Northern Rhone and Southern Rhone. The first one is home to Syrah for the production of red wines while the second one mostly uses the famous Grenache - Syrah - Mourvèdre blend.

Domaine Pascal Chalon
The soils in the Rhone Valley are the result of a geological collision between the Massif Central and the Alps, creating the valley. This region can be split into two sub-regions, Northern and Southern Rhône. Successive layers of fluvial and calcareous marine sediments formed reliefs and geological diversities in the Southern Rhône. The valley’s soils consists nowadays of four different types of rock: granite, sandy silica, limestone and clay. Here the bedrock plays a major role by allowing different access to water and nutrients depending on the soils compositions.

Interesting wine with both a fruity nose and a weird aroma of green olive. Taste is good with hints of cherry and red fruits, a bit of spice, and also green olive and cured meat in the finish. The longer it was in the decanter, the more pronounced the cured meat note came through.
Good price, good wine and a bit interesting, worth a shot! 3.5 stars if possible!
