Tasting notes
Beaujolais "En Besset" opens with a lovely aromatic expression of crushed red berries, with some hints of forest floor in the background. Lively, fresh and delicate attack with intense notes of fresh red fruits and red berries, followed by a complex and mineral finish.

The soils of Beaujolais are divided into a northern and southern half, with the town of Villefranche-sur-Saône being in between. The northern half comprises of most of the Crus of Beaujolais with schist, granite and limestone based soils. The best plots are located on hillsides, with most of the granite and schist, leaving the lower slopes with more stone and clay. The southern half of the region has flatter land with richer, sandstone and clay based soils with some limestone patches.
