Tasting Notes

A lovely expression of biological ageing, where citrus, nutty, and spices are well mixed together. Complex, rich, and velvety attack, with notes of dried fruits, and nuts over a sherry-like finish.

Spain

Andalusia

Andalusia is the most southerly wine region of Spain. This very hot and dry region with vineyards looking like moonscape benefits from Atlantic, Mediterranean, or Mountain influence. Andalusia is home of famous Sherry and other dessert wines, mostly based on Pedro Ximenez, Muscat, and Palomino.

Callejuela

Mediterranean climate with mountain influence

Callejuela

The soils in Andalusia are really heterogeneous. The diversity and the quality of the region's soils make it excellent base for any kind of agriculture, including thriving vines. Plus, the climate variations found throughout the vast region account for all the different types of Andalusian wines. In the province of Cádiz, the "Sherry Triangle", the secret lies in the chalky, crumbly, moisture-retaining albariza soil, combined with the damp climate, which encourages the growth of the flor.
