“Lorenzo Mocchiutti and Federica Magrini produce age-worthy wines of great purity.”
Soil Specificity
The soils in Friuli region vary from calcium rich marl and sandstone in the more hilly regions to clay, sand, and gravel in the valley. The region is comprised between the Alps, being the border with Austria, and the Adriatic Sea at the south. The northern half is very mountainous, so most of the vineyards are located in the southern half of the region, like Collio Goriziano, Colli Orientali del Friuli, Isonzo and Carso.
A Passionate Lineage
Vignai da Duline was founded in 1997, when Lorenzo Mocchiutti inherited a few hectares of vines from his grandfather. It would be difficult to find two people who combine respect for the land, a love of nature and an appetite for hard work more effectively than Lorenzo Mocchiutti and Federica Magrini. The young couple behind Vignai da Duline has become an iconic producer in Italy, thanks to their significant efforts to do up the vineyard, combined with hand-harvesting, two sorting tables, and natural fermentation.
