“Pedro Marques produces bright and pure wines that express the gifts of the surrounding nature.”
The soils in Lisboa region are influenced by their proximity to the coast. The landscape ranges from undulating lush green terrains to steep, poor, and desolate mountain soils of Candeeiros and Montejunto. The best vineyards are planted on kimmeridgian limestone with enough clay to maintain a good enough level of water in the soils.
A Passionate Lineage
Vale da Capucha is a small family business in the Lisbon coast, only 8 km from the Atlantic ocean. The ambition is to promote the local indigenous grape varieties - Arinto, Fernão Pires, Alvarinho, and Gouveio, using organic viticulture and natural winemaking. The goal is to show the best expression of the terroir, blessed by the Atlantic influence, and ever produce higher quality wines. Even during the fermentations, nothing is added or taken from the juice. Vale da Capucha has been the benchmark of success in the wine industry of the region.
