"The three friends produce genuine wines showing the uniqueness of their terroir - Calabria."
Soil Specificity
The soils on the hills of Calabria lie on Tertiary calcareous rocks and sediments. The southern part of Italy is also marked by dolomitic rocks and Quaternary alluvial deposits. Rich in iron oxides, volcanic ashes, sand, and clay, the soils are ideal to grow vines.

A Passionate Lineage
Founded in 2006 by Antonello Canonico, Dino Briglio and Emilio Di Ciano, L’Acino is the adventure of three friends that shared the same dream of producing wines that represent the unique Calabrian terroir. The patchwork of small, high-altitude vineyards are located on pristine soils unspoiled by the use of chemicals (and in some cases include ungrafted vines), in areas kilometres away from any form of “civilisation”. L’Acino is devoted to the use only of organically- grown indigenous Calabrian grapes. Spontaneous fermentation, limited amount of sulphites, long ageing and no filtration are their “non-interventionist” wine making techniques.
