“Daniella Quaresima and Alessandro Bonci produce inspiring and elegant wines from the green rolling hills of Marche.”
Soil Specificity
The soils in Marche are Pliocene and Pleistocene marine sediments with also Holocene alluvial sediments. This means some clay accumulation and a high level of limestone. Marche has a large number of terroirs well suited to the cultivation of vines, particularly in the coastal hills around Ancona. Clay and limestone-rich soils contribute to the distinctive terroirs of the region.

History / Ethos
La Marca di San Michelle is a relatively young estate (Created in 2007) located in the eastern slopes of the Apennines where they slip down to the sea. This is a 10 hectare domaine with 6 hectares planted with vines on an ancient limestone seabed. This is the birthplace of Verdicchio, with wine production dating back to at least the 12th century. In the capable hands of Daniela Quaresima and Alessandro Bonci, the grape reveals its potential as one of the great white wines of Italy.
