“Manfred and Katharina Prüm produces elegant wines, light in body but intense in flavour, with distinctive mineral/slate character.”
Soil Specificity
The soils in Mosel / Saar / Ruwer are made of porous slate. The best sites are located on the slopes along the Mosel river and its tributaries, where the heat from the sun can be maximized by reflection. up from the water. The terroir is easily recognizable, thanks to its high content of slate. This gives slatey mineral notes to Riesling, ranking German Riesling at the top of the world.

A Passionate Lineage
Joh. Jos. Prüm is a family estate founded in 1911 by Johann Josef Prüm and his son Sebastian, after he received the vineyards as his share of the inheritance. The estate's reputation was largely built by Sebastian during the 1930s and 1940s". Dr Manfred Prüm and his younger brother Wolfgang Prüm took over the business in 1969. Manfred has been working with his daughter Dr Katharina Prüm since 2003. Here, yields are severely low and harvesting is late and often continues through to late November. The precise work in the cellar plus meticulous winemaking give high quality wines.
