"Michel Ginglinger produces dry, mineral, age worthy, and very classical wines that are fantastic food / wine matches."
Soil Specificity
The soils and terroirs of Alsace are a winemaker’s dream as there is a different soil composition in every single plots of every vineyard. Alsace is a complex mosaic with different soils, subsoils, and bedrocks, being the result of its location on a geological fault. Alsace vineyards sits in a hole between the Vosges and the Black Forest. If we can generalize, the subsoil in Alsace can be marly, slightly granitic, volcanic, sandy, calcareous, or even very stony clay.

A Passionate Lineage
Domaine Paul Ginglinger, located in Eguishem, is run by the thirteenth generation. The family have been making wines since 1610, and Michel took over the business from his dad, Paul, in 2000, bringing his experience (Champagne - Burgundy - South-Africa, Chile), passion and thirst for novelty. The Domain is certified organic, answering a single aim: producing real wines, which truly transcribe their terroir. Year after year, this small family estate is regarded as one of the real rising stars on the Alsatian wine scene, gaining recognition, both locally and internationally.
