"Raphaël Coche-Dury produces wines that are easily recognisable by their straight, taut and finely aromatic style, plus an absolutely unique depth."
Soil Specificity
The soils of the Côte de Beaune are covered with limestone scree coming from the top of the hill, red silts deposited in the glacial era, and rocks resulting from the alteration of the underlying geological strata. Brown limestone and stony soils characterise the southern part of the Côte d'Or. At the top of slope, the soils are lean, very limestone, they enrich themselves in clay going down. There are three different hillsides: those of the Corton mountain, those of the Côte des Blancs and those of Chassagne, Santenay and Maranges.
History / Ethos
Domaine Jean-François Coche-Dury was founded in Meursault in 1975, following the marriage of Jean-François Coche and Odile Dury, both belonging to local winegrowing families. This Marriage added some holdings to the Coche family, already well-known for making great wine in Meursault for several generations. Jean-François has worked hard to raise the quality of the wines of the estate. Domaine Jean-François Coche-Dury is a highly regarded producer for its production of white wines. Raphaël, the son, perpetuates tradition. Meursault-Perrieres from the estate is one of the most sought after white wine in the world.
