“Elisabetta Luorio produces genuine and elegant wines in symbioses with the surrounding nature.”
The soils in Campania are extrusive igneous rocks. The main soils are soils with more or less derived from volcanic materials, then one can find some soils with clay and iron oxides accumulation, or even alluvial soils. Campania is unique in that many of its vines are planted on their own rootstocks. Phylloxera pest simply cannot survive in Campania’s volcanic soils.
A Passionate Lineage
Casebianche is an estate in the area of Torchiara, inside the Cilento national park, among citrus, olive and fig trees, producing wines in a traditional way. Organically grown grapes (with a biodynamic flair...) and a “natural” approach to wine making that sees human intervention reduced to the bare essential are the main focal points of the environmentally friendly winery. Here, great care for vines is the asset to highlight all the nuances that make the wines unique and not a standardised type. The soil, as a living organism, represent also the essential starting-point for the growth and quality of our vineyards.
