“The Dal Fornos use traditional methods to grow the finest fruit, and then employ modern techniques to produce the best wines - classic in expression and modern in purity.”
Soil Specificity
The soils in Veneto are rocky and majorly made up of alluvial soils. The region enjoys a protection from the harsh northern European climate by its location at the foothills of the Alps. The Adriatic coastal plains and river valleys are where Valpolicella, Amarone and Bardolino reds are produced. The soils are rocky, stony, pebbly and composed with alluvial based on chalk or volcanic origins, providing ideal conditions for growing the local grapes.
History / Ethos
Azienda Agricola Dal Forno Romano is a family business located at Illasi, outside the so-called Zona Classica for Valpolicella. The estate was created in the 1980s and now consists of 18 hectares planted to traditional indigenous varieties of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Oseleta and Croatina. Almost everything was planned by himself and meticulously implemented in almost three decades, leaving today a great legacy to his three sons - Luca, Michelle and Marco.
