Soil Specificity

The soils in Friuli region vary from calcium rich marl and sandstone in the more hilly regions to clay, sand, and gravel in the valley. The region is comprised between the Alps, being the border with Austria, and the Adriatic Sea at the south. The northern half is very mountainous, so most of the vineyards are located in the southern half of the region, like Collio Goriziano, Colli Orientali del Friuli, Isonzo and Carso.

A Passionate Lineage

Arcania is an association of small wine growers created in 1998 by five winegrowers who decided to vinify their organic grapes together in one single winery. All wines are produced using organically grown grapes, resulting in a high-quality, environmentally-friendly product. The winery is situated in the hamlet of Arcano Superiore near the castle and surrounded by lovely rolling hills. By uniting their efforts, they established one modern winery to satisfy the most critical customers who demand healthy, premium quality products.
